Foreign Citizens (excluding Canadian Citizens)

The following materials are needed to apply for all financial aid funds administered by the Committee on Financial Aid. Please note the deadline below.

An application for financial aid will in no way jeopardize your chances for admission; however, late applications for aid cannot be assured of full consideration in time for the admissions reply deadline. Should your financial situation change, and you no longer wish to be considered for financial aid, please notify us in writing. Please keep photocopies of all materials for your own records.

All forms for below are due in the Financial Aid Office by February 1, 2008:

Financial Statement for Students from Foreign Countries

If you did not receive this form with the admissions application, it is available online at www.fao.fas.harvard.edu or upon request from our office by calling (617) 495-1581.

Parent Income Tax Return or Wage Statement

Submit a copy of your parents' most recent tax return, if applicable. If a tax return is not filed in your country, submit a statement of earnings from your parents' employers that states their yearly earnings. Be sure to write your name and “Class of 2012” clearly at the top of all materials

Business/Farm Supplement

If either of your parents is self-employed or owns a business or farm, he/she will need to submit a Business/Farm Supplement (available upon request from our office or by download at www.fao.fas.harvard.edu) for each business or farm in which any interest is held.

Noncustodial Parent Information

In cases of separation or divorce, the noncustodial parent must complete a separate copy of the Financial Statement for Students from Foreign Countries, and submit this to our office with a copy of his or her most recent tax return or wage statement.

Additional Information

Feel free to send us a letter of explanation if your family has special circumstances or unusual expenses, or if you feel there are any other details which will help us to understand more completely your financial situation.
